How I got to silver.....

If any of you follow me on Instagram and/or Twitter, you already know my locks of blonde are officially silver! I'm sure I will be getting LOTS of questions about how I got to this color and how my hair is not thrashed and falling out. Pre-apology for the pictures... I have had zero time to take some nice ones so these are all I have.

First of all, this has been a very long and slow process. About two years ago I started getting really fascinated by pastel hair colors. I started thinking about what I would look like if I did it and how I could get to it. Eventually I started the blonde process of just some highlights and making them heavier each time I went in to get my hair done. I was set back for awhile because I decided to do ombré for a few months. About a few months ago I got it to the blonde I wanted it to be and just let it be. Then about three days ago, me being the impulsive person I am, I decided to go silver. I thought hey why not, might as well try something new. So with my mom having a salon license we were able to use some nice bleach. I 100% recommend going to a professional for the bleaching process. We used Goldwell's Silk Lift with the Goldwell Silk Lift 30 Volume Developer. We ended up doing this process twice... in one day... yes I know that's bad. From there, we did our first round of toning with Goldwell's TopChic color in 11SV. Unfortunately, this did not get my hair to the color I wanted it to be. So the next day we purchased a Wella toner in the color T18, formally known as White Lady. To say the least, I am absolutely obsessed with the way my hair turned out.

Considering all of the coloring I do to my hair,  you'd think I wouldn't have any hair at all anymore. Honestly, I am quite surprised it isn't completely thrashed  right now, but I guess me being a freak about the health of my hair has truly paid of! Some things that have helped my hair stay healthy is by putting Moroccan oil on it and doing in-shower hair masks. Another thing I do is STAY AWAY FROM HEAT. I only straighten or curl my hair when it's an absolute must. You should also only be washing your hair every 2-3 days. You have to give your hair time to build up on it's natural oils to stay healthy. If my hair is really sweaty and gross on one of the days I don't wash it, I just run it under some water and on occasion I run some conditioner through it.

My biggest advice is give your hair time to get it to your desired color and think a lot about whether you truly want to commit to this unique color or not. You should also make sure you do your research before jumping into this process. Know everything there is to know about the process and the up-keep. This is all I have for this Friday's update!

Check back in next week!!

Fashion Inspo... AKA Workout Inspo.

Hello friends! Sorry it has been awhile, I've been very
busy lately, but I finally had time to make a post!

We live in a society where girls look at women like Jen Selter and Kayla Itsines and instantly think I need to diet, I need to take weight loss pills, etc. etc. etc. That is exactly what you shouldn't do -okay yes if you are eating a cheeseburger everyday, maybe you should change your diet. With that being said, getting fit only has to do with giving your body what it needs, eating as healthy as you can (which includes actually eating), and working out! People everywhere struggle with going to the gym or committing to a pilates class ( or whatever it is people do). My advice is GIVE YOURSELF REWARDS. About 90% of the time I am on the treadmill I am thinking about all the food I ate that day and that I am burning most of those calories away. The other 10% of the time, I'm thinking about how cute all my new clothes will be on my new hot bod. The best way to even get yourself to start working out is by buying new workout clothes. By spending money on new workout clothes, you should feel obligated to put them to use. Workout clothes are very trendy right now, so get out there, buy some running shoes, some nice leggings, and get to the gym!

Until next time...

GOOD MORNING

WAKE UP! It’s a beautiful day! Today I want each and every one of you to go out and do something nice for someone. Even if you aren’t feeling so bright, doing something nice for someone else will make you feel just as good or even better than the person receiving your niceness. Life can be tough sometimes so all we can do sometimes is do something to lighten the mood. Do your share in your community, feel good, and be happy. :)

The outfit: Happy Thoughts Cropped T-Shirt from Topshop with a simple velvet skater skirt from Nordstrom. Stole the hat from a friend, but I believe it's from Brandy Melville!

AZ ---> MI

I am currently writing from (I have no idea how many miles) miles above the ground trying to calm myself down from my internal panic attack I just hid from the people around me. As we took off I couldn't help, but think 'oh my goodness these are my last moments' or 'I forgot to tell my cat that I love him and I'm about to die so he'll never know.' But, even through all these thoughts, I was externally keeping it together for the sake of the stranger child sitting next to me. Seriously this kid is being beyond brave and overly happy to be sitting next to random strangers on a red-eye flight, and I am not going to be the one to make her upset. You'd think me, the child of a pilot, would be completely okay with flying. No, I am the black sheep of the family, which I'm sure has something to do with the amount of CNN I watch and how many plane crashes there seems to have been so recently.

Ahh finally the flight attendant is coming by with drinks and snacks. Time to stop writing and possibly get some sleep after devouring my biscoff cookie. I will be in Michigan for the next eight days so I will try to post again while I'm here, if not, love you all and thank you for reading!
